Food Bank
Residents of Lafayette, Louisville, Superior, and Erie may receive emergency food assistance twice per month from our food bank. Our food boxes last two weeks and contain, on average, 148+lbs. of food including non perishable and perishable items such as meat, dairy and fresh produce. The amount of food provided varies based on the number residents per client household. Food boxes also include toiletries and baby items, such as diapers, as needed.
Our Food Bank:
- Serves over 1,200 households annually
- Provides emergency food and toiletry packages of 148 pounds (average) to qualifying individuals and families twice per month
- Delivers supplemental food items to home bound seniors and disabled individuals weekly
- Shares extra food with other nonprofit agencies
During the holidays, SCCC distributes Holiday food boxes in both November and December. Holiday food boxes are available at our center for pick up. Clients receive Holiday food boxes in addition to the food boxes provided twice per month through our Food Bank. For local senior clients or clients with disabilities we deliver these Holiday food boxes. The December food box delivery includes a Holiday gift purchased for each senior or disabled individual from a wish list.
The food bank can always use donations.
How to get help:
The Sister Carmen Community Center provides non-discriminatory emergency assistance to our clients. To receive food you must be a resident of:
- Lafayette
- Louisville
- Superior
- Erie (in Boulder County)
You must present a:
- Valid photo ID
- Current piece of mail that verifies that you reside in one of the above cities. This should be either a utility or phone bill.
